Join us starting on May 1, 2018, for another great season at the ACA encampment on Lake Sebago in Harriman State Park! The camp is only open to ACA members and is a great benefit of your membership, so please come and utilize the camp. It is a fabulous place to come just to relax. There are many docks to launch your boats off to paddle around the lake or practice paddling skills. We are in the middle of all the hiking trails so you can leave your car at the camp and go hiking, and we have a swimming area as well. There is a daily fee that our members must pay that helps us maintain the camp. There is a fully functioning bathroom with hot showers, which is a nice way to end any activity at camp. If you want to stay overnight at the camp, there are cabins you can rent as well as a tent site area. There are many activities planned in the camp throughout the paddling season (May 1-October 15) so please check out the camp’s Google site to find out all the needed information and event calendar. sites.google.com/site/acalakesebago/home
Spring will be here soon – we hope. It has been a very cold winter. If you are planning to come to ACA Camp at Lake Sebago more than a few times, it pays to buy a season pass. Download the form here – Seaon Pass Application 2016
The ACA is committed to making the world a better place to paddle. A major program is the on-going Stream to Sea Initiative that will equip users with the knowledge and tools necessary to clean navigable waterways and paddling environments while recreating.
Hosted by Sheepshead Canoe Club, a group of campers gathered last weekend in the Pavilion to share memories of times old times. Many brought photos to share and scan and we will share more during the summer. The youngest attendee was 2 1/2 and had a swell time discovering Chinese checkers, the older at 85 is still canoe sailing.
