The Camp Commitee is sad to say that the Palisades Interstate Parks Commission (PIPC) has informed us that the ACA Camp will not be opening on June 1st.
We will remain closed until further notice. PIPC has told us they are working towards getting the camps open as soon as they believe it is safe. We will update everyone as soon as this changes.
Remember – As long as the Camp is closed, no one is allowed to enter camp whether by vehicle or on foot.

We’re anticipating the opening of camp on June 1st – we’re still waiting for confirmation from NYS and PIPC.
Hopefully this date won’t be pushed back again!
It’s a strange time, and while everyone is eager to get out of the city and into the woods and on the water again, we all must be patient. No one may enter the ACA camp until we officially open.
We’re crossing our fingers! Stay safe – and look for updates on these pages.
PIPC has informed us that the opening date for camps has been changed to May 15th. We wanted to let everyone know that no one is allowed to enter camp until we officially open, and we’ll keep this page updated about any changes.

As far as we know, the ACA Camp at Lake Sebago will open on May 1st. Things may change, even at the last minute, so visit this page for the latest information as we get closer to that date.
One thing we know for sure – the camp will open this season! We will be boating and swimming and hiking again soon!
The ACA Camp at Lake Sebago is governed by the Camp Committee and we are looking for nominations for this year’s elections. The Camp Committee meets once a month year round and the meetings usually last at least three hours (and often more). Each Camp Committee member is expected to take on a special role in managing the camp, so this is a working position that requires a commitment of time and energy.
At our camp committee’s next meeting we’ll be voting in 5 new members. If you wish to nominate yourself or someone else, email us at [email protected] before December 13, 2019. Include a brief paragraph introducing your nominee with contact information; we’ll also need an email direct from the nominated person, accepting the nomination.
We’ll vote on new members at our next camp committee meeting – on Sunday, December 15, at noon, at the Sloatsburg Public Library meeting room.
We recommend that the nominees attend this meeting to introduce themselves. But it isn’t required.
